Every Fraley tutor is a high-performing maths or physics student at a leading UK university, personally interviewed and selected by our founder.
Founder & Lead Tutor
PhD Theoretical Particle Physics, University of Manchester
Cambridge Part III (Distinction) · MPhys Physics (1st, top of year) · John Wiley Book Prize · Franz Mandl Prize
Alex founded Fraley Tutors nearly 10 years ago and has personally taught over 1,500 lessons. He holds a Distinction in the Cambridge Part III — one of the hardest maths courses in the world — and is currently researching QCD and collider physics for his PhD. He won the John Wiley Book Prize and the Franz Mandl Prize for theoretical work during his undergraduate degree. Alex takes a limited number of students personally.
Founding Tutor
MSc Theoretical Physics, University of Manchester (1st Class)
Oscar has been part of Fraley Tutors from the very beginning, bringing over seven years of experience teaching maths and physics. He graduated with first-class honours in Theoretical Physics at Manchester, scoring 96% in Quantum Field Theory. His calm, methodical teaching style consistently earns him five-star reviews.
MSci Physics, Imperial College London
Arav studies Physics at Imperial, where he’s already undertaken research in quantum machine learning — presenting his work at the Quantum for Humanity conference. He achieved four A*s at A-Level and ten grade 9s at GCSE. With recent first-hand experience of the exams, he teaches both deep understanding and the practical strategies students need to perform on the day.
BSc Mathematics, University of Warwick
Arjun achieved A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and EPQ at A-Level, alongside ten grade 9s at GCSE. He studies Mathematics at Warwick and has a strong track record of improving students by at least one grade. His teaching is conversational and structured — he gets students to talk through their thinking, which is where the real learning happens.
BSc Theoretical Physics, University College London
Arthur studies Theoretical Physics at UCL, having achieved A*s in Maths and Physics at A-Level. He’s an interactive, encouraging teacher who gives students space to explore their own ideas rather than just presenting solutions. His experience leading teams in international STEM competitions gives him a knack for making problem-solving feel collaborative and engaging.
BEng Engineering, University of Bristol
Ciara achieved three A*s at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, and was awarded her school’s Physics Prize. She’s patient and adaptable, approaching difficult topics from multiple angles until they click. Her priority is building confidence — she creates an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling problems they’d normally avoid.
BSc Mathematics and Economics, LSE (1st Class)
Eden studies Mathematics and Economics at the London School of Economics, achieving first-class grades throughout. She earned A*s in both Maths and Further Maths at A-Level, and was named Tutor of the Year at her previous tutoring company for her dedication and engaging teaching style. With over four years of experience, she specialises in building students’ confidence and independence.
BSc Physics, University of Bristol
George studies Physics at Bristol, where he recorded 94% in his first-year finals. All of his tutoring students have improved by at least two grades within five months. His teaching centres on conversation — he creates a relaxed environment where students think out loud, connect ideas across topics, and build the kind of understanding that transfers into independent work.
BEng Biomedical Engineering, Imperial College London
Jayla is a Biomedical Engineering student at Imperial, where she works on brain-computer interfaces and neural engineering. With over six years of tutoring experience, she’s skilled at adapting her explanations to different learning styles — whether a student needs to see it, hear it, or work through it hands-on. She makes even the most abstract concepts feel concrete and approachable.
PhD Particle Physics, Southampton / Queen Mary (MSci Physics, King’s College London, 1st Class)
Mehrunnisa is a PhD researcher in particle physics, having graduated with a first-class MSci from King’s College London. She’s delivered over 350 hours of one-to-one tutoring across a wide range of ages and abilities. Having overcome her own early difficulties with maths, she connects with students who find the subject challenging — and knows exactly how to turn things around.
Mathematics BSc, University of Warwick
William studies Mathematics at the University of Warwick, where he cultivates a strong analytical and logical approach to problem-solving. He's accumulated two years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students in Maths and Physics—an impressive track record underpinned by four A*s at A-Level. He ensures thorough understanding by building topics from their foundational principles, making lessons engaging and providing challenging weekly work to consolidate learning.
